Correction, the Wigan players in the photo were Bevan, Ashcroft and Fleming (not Nordgren) with Harry Street in the background. Wigan lost 7-0 and it would be a further 5 years before silverware was seen again at Central Park despite recruiting one of the game's greats, Billy Boston later that year. Perhaps this indicated just how good Billy was, for him to shine when the team itself was not up to the usual Wigan standard.
