Photograph taken at the Wilderspool ground, Warrington. Looks like to be early to mid 1940's?

It looks like the old Odsal stadium to me. I could be wrong though.

I posted this quite a while ago Ron. It's Odsal, and it's the second leg of the Challenge Cup (Wartime) 22nd April 1944. Wigan had beaten Bradford Northern a week earlier at Central Park 3-0 (try by Jimmy Featherstone), unfortunately they lost this one 8-0 (4 penalties), and the Final (20,000 attendance) by the aggregate score 8-3. I managed to buy a DVD of the 1944 (2nd Leg) of the War time Cup Final between Wigan and Bradford Northern (just 3 or 4 minutes long). the editing leaves a lot to be desired but the quality of film is very good. Very fortunately from my point of view my father (Jack Bowen) who played in both these games appears quite frequently in the shots (he was loose forward). He passed away aged 93 and to see him running around the field as a fit 29 year old was a wonderful moment for me and the family.
