This is the Wigan U19 Colts team of 1973 which won the Preston Grasshoppers 7's under coaches Mike Higham and Barry Brennan.

we weren't expected to win but having got to the final we were pleased to see warrington beat the favourites, widnes in the other semi. we wallopped the wire in the final.

One thing that Paul Fowler didn't mention was that we beat Orrell in the semi-final. That meant more than winning the final!
