The galloping major in the centre, the one who Subby had his differences with. Where is owd Subby these days, I ask. Stirring it up no doubt, where ever he may be.

The team was as follows:
Back row L to R; Max Finney, Joe Oliver, Brian Worthington, Colin Hunt, Joe Rynn, Alan Jones, Jimmy Lowe, Tom Housley, Kenny Daniels. Middle; Ned Gray, Mayor of Wigan, Les Halliday (Capt), Cyril Gadney (RFU President), Mike Higham. Front; Jimmy Berry, Alan Scott, Johnny Sheridan, Jack Housley, Jimmy Moore.

For the record Subby is now living in St Annes.

Subby is still around, fortunately not in Wigan. He lived over in Chorley for a while and may be annoying people in Lytham these days from what I've heard. He would fall out with himself in an empty room after a few beers, and in public, usually when he had others to back him up, or, more likely drag him away, before somebody gave him a slap.

Still scratchin' mi head - how can you work out who "subby" is from those names?
