Is that Phil Eastham who later played for Wigan RL?

Hi Pat
If you mean what happened to them in their later years, I lost contact with most of them, but heres what I know
John Connaughton played for Man Utd & Sheffield United and a few others
Phil Eastham played a few times on the wing for Wigan RL
Tommy Aspinall played a few years with me at Daisy Hill and played also for Anchor Cables & Wigan Athletic
Its a bit sketchy I know, perhaps others can tell us more

Here's a bit more about John Connaughton, had a really good career.

Is that Ronnie Melling who went to Highfield and later played for Wigan Ath?

Hi Jarvo
It was David Melling, went to All Saints
I did play against David in the 70s in the Lancs Amateur Shield, he was playing for a Wigan team, could have been Goose Green but I'm not too sure

Thanks Les. How come Harold Peet, David Hurst and Ronnie Melling, all from Highfield, weren't in this team?

Don't know Jarvo AFAIK the selectors picked from all the schools in Wigan and District but you had to be under 15 in September 64, maybe that was it

Harold Peet was my cousin,he would not have been old enough to qualify for this team.As you are probably aware,Harold was killed in a car crash a couple of years later.
