A great winger who scored some impossible tries.

Did he go back to South Africa?

Hi Maggie. Trevor Lake signed for Sydney St George around 1967, but played only 8 games and retired becuase of a bad knee injury. He was actually Rhodesian.

It was Ashby who passed the ball to him

Correct, Scholes Malc. Alan Davies was one of the greatest centres ever to play the great game, but he'd left Wigan by then. I think they signed Keith Holden to replace him. Ashby shared the Lance Todd trophy that day with Brian Gabbitas from Hunslet. I was in section C11 that day, right in the corner where Lake dived over for a brilliant try [his second of the game!]

Yes it was definately Ashby who passed to Lake when Eddie said they,ll never catch him now, he was the leading try scorer in the rugby league in that, the 1965 season and scored two more in this match.
