i) where was the 'Crown & Sceptre'?
ii) is that Joe Gleeson - the St. Pats 'singer'
iii) where the Griffins related & from Scholes - just curious as that was my mothers maiden name - (out of Silver Street)

Scholes Malc , there's a photograph on Wigan World of The Crown and Septre( Scholes photographs 1st page). It was situated on the right going up Scholes higher up than the Kings Arms just before Upper Morris Street.
2nd question , yes it is Joe Gleeson from St Pats , a very nice gentleman and great singer. I'am sorry I can't help with your 3rd query

Tom. As you went from Scholes Crossing towards Whelley the Crown & Sceptre was on the left,I'm sure.

Ken.
You are right, the Crown And Sceptre was on the LEFT hand side going up Scholes from Scholes crossing up towards the Windmill(corner of Greenough Street)It was nearly on the junction on Upper Morris Street and Scholes.
