Me and our Rob after the win over Bryn 'A' in the challenge cup final. That's our Grandad Jimmy Abbott with us. Our Rob was a great player.

he was a good player, there were a lot of good players around then,i'm surprised nobody went on to be professional
I used to live next door to Rob in Ulverston Rd Goose Green.

You're right Judith, every team seemed to have a lot of good players in those days,we used to get plenty of practise. We used to enjoy the social side too, that probably prevented a lot of the lads going on to bigger and better things.

Jimmy Abbott used to get sent off more often than the players!
