When I started going to the "park" in the mid 50s if I saved an extra bit of money you could buy a ticket to sit on the wooden slats so you would be right next to the pitch I recall in my time it were 4s/6pence or four and a tanner!! we used to eagerly wait for final whistle then run and collect the corner flags so that you could walk alongside the players it was out of this world walking with your " giant heroe's"" bloomin belting days!!!
