Another great picture.
I haven't seen this one before. I think it's the 1914-15 season, if you look closely you can see lots of spectators wearing uniform in the stand behind. Can't place a few players but I think that's William Curran seated extreme left, another New Zealander who, because of the War, played from 1913 to 1915, 56 games scoring an impressive 58 tries. He was an all round athlete, especially noted as a fine boxer and was able to play anywhere in the back line.
Charlie ''Bronco'' Seeling-Middle-Middle row.
Has to be after 1911- Percy Coldrick in back row.
I believe I've stumbled across details relating to this match in a Wigan Rugby related book. In October 1914 the Field Artillery were training in Winstanley Park and were invited en-bloc to watch Wigan's home match against Hull - you can make them out in their uniforms in the Douglas Stand. It was October 3rd 1914 and Wigan won 13 - 7. The team was Seddon, Bradley (later killed in action in 1918), Jenkins, Evans, Curran, Walford, J Thomas, Seeling, Francis, Hayward, Coldrick, Silcock, Haigh.
