Wigan Album

Brilliant picture Banksy! This picture was taken on Springfield's Park car park. I was there resplendent in my blue and white jumper!

This is either a Wigan Observer or Wigan Evening Post picture as I and Frank Orrell were the two staff photographers who accompanied the team to Wembley and back on the team coach.think Banksy has scanned it in!!

The photo shows myself when I had hair, Les Rigby and the late great Ian Gillibrand on top of the coach outside of Springfield Park. The club had ordered an open top coach for the ride back into wigan but because we lost it was cancelled for a normal one. Anyway when we come off the motorway at Standish there was a crowd of fans waiting and Les Rigby said to remove the skylights on the roof and we travelled on top back to Springfield. It was a brilliant occasion that i will never forget.

Forty years on I've lost my long hair and moustache (above Les Rigby's knee) but I've still got my scarf and love for the club. FA Cup winners - FANTASTIC!!!!
