There were a few bad decitions by the ref.
Cards were printed---

I had one for years

Two of my Uncles played in this Final for Wigan Jack and Billy Blan sadly no longer with us I think Jack was so upset he didn't go for his medal. Well before my time.Often thought if its on film somewhere.

It shows King George VI, etc in 1948 and Joe Egan, Billy Blan, Ken Gee etc receiving the cup. They beat Bradford Northern 8 v 3. There are a lot of rugby clips on British Pathe but no 1946

The 1951 final Wigan 10 v Barrow 0. Mountfordwon the Lance Todd trophywith Billy Blan a close second. See Billy Blan (no.13) holding the base of the cup behind Ces Mountford.

Steve, I have an un-official programme for this game. These were the ones warned against by the RL authorities, perhaps because they were printed and distributed by the "spivs" perhaps also because the money went directly into their pockets!
I will scan it and put the image on WW when I get time.
