A photograph of Wigan's Lancashire Cup win of 1938, taken at Central Park, showing two directors, Tom Brown (on left) and Harry Platt (on right). Tom was for many years landlord of the Park Hotel in Wigan and Harry was a solicitor.
The other person wearing a suit is Harry Sunderland, an Australian who had come over to be Secretary/Manager of Wigan in 1938, just a week after their Lancashire Cup victory.
Left to right, Tom Brown, the legendary Jim Sullivan, Ike Jones, Jack Bowen (my father), Trevor Thomas, Roy Francis, Johnny Lawrenson, Percy Moxey (died in a bomber crash in 1942), Jack Garvey, Harry Platt. Harry Sunderland is the short man, standing in front of the players next to the Cup.
Sullivan, Jones, Bowen, Thomas and Garvey were in the cup winning team

Hi! I'm trying to find out information on behalf of my grandad Malcolm Platt, whose father is the Harry Platt mentioned above. If anyone has any photos or information relating to him, I would love to find out more!
