Thanks for that Stephen, Ive just looked him up having only vaguely heard of him.I know Lawrence was also an athlete and thy were both in the air force,there could be a connection there.

Could it be anything to do with Rugby League. He (Macdonald Bailey) played for Leigh in 1953
