Remember most of them Roy, I think your dad Jack had a fruit & veg round with a little pony & cart, I used to mate with your cousin Brian Highton, i think he lived with your Gran for a long time, That was in the 1940s

Yes my Dad did sell fruit and veg from a cart pulled by a pony (Dolly).Nice to hear our Brian mentioned. He did live with us for a while after I was born. In fact, he was more like a brother than a cousin to me. He did move back to Garswood in the early 90s from Roby Mill but sadly he passed away in 1993 from a massive heart attack, aged 57. I don't half miss him,

Hi , Roy I am Gerard Hilton from 108 station rd , where Jack Farrell went to live, i think your dad moved into Witheringtons house if i am not mistaken, I left Garswood in 1948,Not like it used to be,

Thanks for that Ged. If you left Garswood in 1948 I'd only be three years old at the time so that's why I can't remember you.We did move into the end of the row (number 114) after leaving the pub. I do believe it was Nellie Witherington's house before we took it,

My granny was Nellie Sherman ,my dad is Norman Sherman he is 80 now but still racing his pigeons and enjoying life .
