The cap badge looks very much like Royal Artillery.

Looks like hes wearing horse spurs on his boots, could concur with Micks comments. Royal Artillary would have been horse pulled then.

you may find out more info if you wish from here, send them the pic they should be able to pinpoint your uncles regiment.
