Wigan Album

This notice was published in the Wigan Observer in 1931. My parents William & Agnes Bradshaw got married on the 30th September 1931, the notice was in the paper the following week after they had travelled to Tilbury Docks to board a ship, I think it was the Strathnaver, bound for India where my father had got a job at a weaving mill in Cawnpore. Dad was 25 & Mother 2 yrs younger neither of them had been further than Manchester before ! My father worked for the Muir Mills till he came home in 1952. India gained independence in 47' but he stayed on to hand over the mill.
