This is Harry Jones photographed in his uniform for the Royal Field Artillery, ready for departure to the First World War. He is aged 16, the photograph being taken about March - April 1915. The address of the photographic shop (on the rear of the postcard) is Cuttriss Photo, Neville Street, Newcastle - on - Tyne. I put his enlistment paper on this website a few weeks ago. I have often thought when looking at this photograph: "Little did he know what he was letting himself in for..."

Many of those young boys lied about their age and some of tose who went to war were under 16.Anyway God Bless you Harry Jones.
