This photo features the marriage of my great grandparents - Matthew Matthews (1871-1954) and Jane Beesley (1877-1957), which occurred at St. Mary's Church, Lower Ince, on June 28th 1902. Matthew was a Collier at Moss Pit. They went on to have six children. They allegedly honeymooned in Blackburn!

hi paul great photograph my father was gordon matthews son of joseph matthews as you know looking at the photo it seems that matthews eye is turning and my late father had the same problem till it was rectified seems to be a family failing x
Iam researching my family Richard Matthews born 1813 Ireland , can anyone tell me if st mary's is a catholic church , the Matthews I am tracing are RC

St Mary's church at Lower Ince is C of E owever there is another St. Mary's church in Wigan which is R.C.
