I was shocked on opening WW Album just now to read of Philips' sudden death. His comments to my photo's I enjoyed especially the pencil type ones , because I was taught by my Dad (as a draughtsman) the correct type to use. My condolences to his family and he will be missed as contributing to the WW album.

So long mate....decent blokes are thin on the ground these days, but in my memory, you'll always be remembered as a decent bloke.

I only knew Philip through WW but when I saw this I felt I had lost a dear friend. My thoughts and prayers go to his family and those friends who knew him better than I did.

Comment by: Veronica on 9th September 2020 at 11:23

I feel the same Wigwann and everyone else. I never met Philip apart from a few emails but I feel there will be a void left behind where his comments should be. It just shows how he came across to people. I am so very sorry for his family who must be devastated at their loss.

Very sad to learn of the passing of Philip.
I didn't know him personally like many on
WW, but we are all friends because of the site,
it brings so many people together.
All my condolences to his family and close friends.
RIP.

I have known Philip from being a young lad, he was a few years older than myself, but we always got on together, we used to play football for a pub in billinge, then for a short time we worked together for a engineering company in St Helens. As he got older he became more comfortable with his inner self, football was still his passion, but he also liked his horses, and of course his paintings.when my brother died he was the first to send his condolences. I shall remember Philip as a old and dear friend, I send my deepest condolences to his family.

RIP Philip.

With deepest sympathy for his family. Wish I had some of Phillips individual style and talent, to do him justice in expressing how I have enjoyed his contribution to the ww album, over some years, not least his sense of humour and fun. His constructive comments on the contributions of others were always kind, thoughtful, and delivered with humility. We never met and along with many others who looked forward to his photos and scribing, he will be sadly missed. My final message for the thoroughly decent chap, and our ww friend. Phillip : Rest assured sir, you will always be fondly remembered.
