Wigan Album

William Ardern Mason (1920-1984), seen here in his R.A.F. Uniform c. 1940. He was Aircraftman 1036691 in the Royal Air Force, and lived in Newtown all of his life apart from his time in the R.A.F. His main address was 38/40 Victoria Street where he was a grocer/confectioner, and later a wholesaler to the baking trade. This photo was taken outside the home of his Auntie Ethel in Clevelys near Blackpool, where my parents sometimes stayed when visiting Blackpool Tower Ballroom before they married.
