It appears that they are on Southport pier, or one of Blackpool's.
Flippin heck Albert , how do you deduce that from this photograph? It could be a backyard in Helsinki!
Roger, did Mrs Fowler later move to All Saints Grove, near the 'Hand and Banner'? I used to live there and some Fowlers used to live there in the 50s and 60s when I was growing up!
Alan. Only from the comment made by Roger referring to Southport, or Blackpool, Not much property can be seen to the rear of the lady on the right, only the immediate background property.
Apologies Alan, I should have directed my comment to Poet. Sorry Poet.
That little lad at the front, the one kitted out for the Yukon, he must be a similar age to most of us lot, so he's most likely still knocking about. I wonder what scrapes he got into over the decades? Did he work in the pit?. Was he a deep sea fisherman? Was he employed as a pilot for Ryanair? Did he work as a diver, wearing lead boots and one of those brass helmets with windows front and side, or was he just employed by the Natwest bank at their Standishgate branch? I just can't help but wonder. I'll bet he went to see Father Christmas at Lowes though.
Alan, it's possible she did live in All Saints Grove at one time, think she was married to a Bill Fowler, she also lived in George St and Broadway. She died aged 57 in 1981.
I think he would have become a boxer- you can tell with the way he's holding his fists -and that headgear is just made for the ring! Bless his little wooly socks.
The young lad behind Mrs. Fowler could be her son Terence, b1942?
