Wigan Album

We used to love outings to Southport. The Lido, I think thats what it was called, was great fun & always packed with people enjoying the water....& it always seemed that the sun was shining !

Even though the sun shone in those days the water was always freezing! The last time I took a dip in there in a bikini I was 19 yrs old !!! I still have the photo!!! :-))

Just remembered Veronica, there is a pic of my 8yr old self at Southport Lido with my brother, sister & cousin. Its posted on album/people/ Bradshaw family. I remember those itchy bathing costumes well !

I wouldn't even know how to begin to put photos on here Helen/Dtease!! Anyway Alan would have something to say...."What's that got to do with Wigan!!! hahahaha! (one of these days -I will try)!

I'm disappointed Veronica, but given the state of my blood pressure these days it's probably for the best. The sight of a 19-year-old you in a Bikini may just be enough to push me off the scale.

I can't believe it's me myself DTease....just as well ...I don't want everybody seeing my goosebumps!

As long as your goosebumps are indigenous to Wigan i can't see a problem Veronica.

This was my favourite summer place. I once saw George Formby judge a beauty contest there. So many happy days.

Helen of troy, I've just looked at that photo of you as an 8yr old at Southport Lido and you seem to be looking for something, goosebumps perhaps?

I'm intrigued Helen as to what you have in your hand..... Maybe it's a crab that's found it's way into the lido. I must say from your other photo you look such a sensible child almost angelic! : o))
