It may be Henry7, because of the costs that would now be involved. Especially in transport. Local ones could still flourish, I've no doubt. It always requires someone with good organizing abilities.

That photo has sparked off some very pleasant distant memories Alan, as my uncle would also get up coach trips to seaside resorts in the 1950s, they were always popular and everyone really enjoyed themselves, especially the adults as there was always a few of crates of ale in the boot for the road back ensuring plenty of singing and merriment.
