Taken about 1960.
My papa had a car similiar to that one! We used to go everywhere, Southport, Formby, North Wales, the Lakes! Good days out and holidays!
T.V.R. was a car manufacturer at Blackpool. I believe a much sort after, sports, motor car. The famous opera singer and tenor, Alfie Boe, served an apprenticeship there.
The name TVR came from the original owner of the company's name TREVOR WILKINSON. But people said it meant 'Travel Very Rapidly'
This is a mid to late 1950's Ford Anglia 100E.
Albert and Ron, the TVR letters are the number plate, nothing to do with the Blackpool based sports car company!!
I know I was just replying to the previous posters comment about TVR cars.
Ford, must think everyone is simple.!
Ford. Thank you for your comment, but I was aware of that fact. I was just assuming that Brian's comment relating to the letters had some connection with the T.V.R. motor car.
The TVR reg on the car means in was first registerd in Manchester.thats taking the last two letters, same as EK and JP.which where both wigan numbers, before the new reg came in
Just remembered some old joke car company abbreviations.
Just for fun.
