This photo was taken in 1917. My granddad Sydney Hodkinson is seated, and Arthur Whittle in army uniform is standing. I found out that my granddad joined the army in April 1915, but he was discharged after 4 months when it was found out he was just short of his 15th birthday. During those 4 months, he was a truck driver, so perhaps that's when he met Arthur. My granddad later lived at 9 Longfield Street, New Springs. He lived in Scholes when this was taken.

Hi I am wondering if he's related to me. Do you know if Arthur Whittle was married to a Kathleen McCormick and he was born around 1897 by any chance?
