Is that the wife of Captain Haddock - Tin Tin's mate?
trust someone to post drivel to a lovely old photo.
Its called Humour t you sourpuss...No harm done and it is a lovely pic. The lady reminds me of my old nin!
It does seem a precarious situation to have positioned themselves in, to have the photograph taken, but having said that, I know from experience, that is what most back yards were like, in the fifties, and sixties, with the lavatory in the near vicinity. although basic outside, the inside of the house, in the great majority of cases, was extremely clean, and polished, without the convenience of high tech cleaning gadgets. The flags on this photograph are clean, and swept.
You're right Albert. Those houses were immaculate. I remember the front step of nin's house being whitened regularly. Windows washed every week and the grate where they cooked blackened!
this is a picture of my Grandmother, remember the back yards well, there was an entry to the front of the street, all cobbles, and a gent to used to train his whippets to the far right, his name was Percy Lee, I think.
