Brian, thank you for showing all these great family photos, I have really enjoyed looking at them.
Behind the wall is the river Douglas the houses are long gone and the police station was built near there in the 1960s.
Brian. Is this in the vicinity of Harrogate street, that was?
Albert I don't know the street name as I was very young when I used to go there but I think the back of them a little to there right is near Downing St & Warrington Rd cross road lights, I will try to look on an old map sometime.
Brian. That would be Darlington Street,& Warrington Lane, traffic lights. When buildings have been demolished, and new buildings erected, you get disorientated, I would suspect though, that Harrogate Street, would have been close to that location.
Forgot to mention Brian. The building in the background, is most likely, what was once, the Pepper Mill, brass foundry.
If thats the pepper mill in the back ground,then the street could be Shelmerdine street.
Betty. I see that Shelmerdine Street, is also mentioned in a comment, relative to P.C. Thomas Roberts.
