The rear of this photo should accompany this one to the side. They are reading the Wigan Observer and mention the photo will appear in the paper. Also mentions 'A few of the Wigan lads' in the photo. Do you recognise anyone?

Tom. Maybe the Wigan Observer have something in their archives, giving the names of these soldiers. Just a thought.

Unless you have a date, it will take a long time to troll through 5 years of Observers...and that's providing the picture did appear?
Although still a lot to search I can shorten the time frame as I know he signed up 4th September 1915 and was injured in an explosion on the 9th July 1917. Not sure if he re joined but the picture could be between those dates.
