ernest hope you dont mind me repairing the photo.

This is the Prestt family taken about 1906. There were two more daughters born, one in 1910 and the other in 1912. There mother died in 1915 and my great grandfather married again. He took his new wife together with the two youngest daughters to Canada in 1922. I saw his grave in Toronto in 1965 (he died in 1950 aged 82). The two daughters came to visit in 1964.

Thanks tony, it`s brilliant.
Nobody`s commented on my error - only realised after I`d published the photo. It`s my GRANDFATHER!
You are the second person that`s put a photo of mine on!
MT coloured my overall in Work, Walker Bros.Drawing Office.

I had noticed your error, Ernest, but suffering from the occasional "senior moment" myself, chose not to comment!

Ernest, I commented on your original photo but it didn't appear. This is a lovely photo. They must have been well off looking at them.

Tony, you have done a brilliant job with this.

I`ve received an e-mail from my cousin in Denton:-
Hello Ernest,
Good to see the photos on Wiganworld... but just to put matters right, Grandad Prestt and our Mother's stepmother didn't take Auntie`s Alice and Edie with them to Canada; they travelled on their own in October 1924 on Canadian Pacific s.s. Montclair; I have their postcard sent from the ship to my Mother. The message says:
"Dear Emily, How are you getting on it seems ages since we saw you. Do not worry about us. We can just see land. Hoping you are well as we have been sick. With love from A and Edith." It is written in pencil and the p.c. isn't in the best condition but only to be expected after all these years!
Cheerio, Jessie.
Jessie`s mother, Emily, is the youngest on this photo.

My grandfather was James Prestt (1886-1949)who had a shop in St.Helens. So, I am compiling a history of the Prestt family, so very interested to see these comments and photos. I have information on Edward Prestt's life in Canada, but would like to know where his grave is in Toronto. I now live near there and would like to see it. Cheers, John
