Wigan Album

This is the wedding photo of my Mam and Dad, (Sergeant John Jackson of Trieste in Italy at that time, married Ms Annie Ackers, cotton spinner of Bickershaw Lane) taken at the registry office in Wigan I believe. As you can see the bombardier has been promoted to Battery Sergeant. This is in 1946. He had been sergeant many times during the war, but he used to enjoy the life in Cairo too much when was on leave!!! Lol
