Hi Marlene
That's a lovely photo. I recognised you straight away. Hope all is well with you x
What a lovely Photo Marlene, just grand.
Hi ,is it Tricia from Sunday school? I am well ,where has the years gone ?
I remember the local men playing pitch & toss on what they called "T'garden"(wasteland) in the 40's. My stepfathers family came from there, the Parkinsons & Shaws
Lovely photograph. Notice the motor car in the background. Not many folk had one in those days. A car like that in your street in those days could indicate bad news: the doctor, or, God forbid, the undertaker.
Yes it is me ,Marlene. Are you still in Orrell? We were there in Nov/Dec.Seems a world away now from sitting listening to Mrs Eden every Sunday.Lovely to hear from you again.

My 2 Gt Maternal Grandmother lived there in 1881. She was widowed by then, Taberner nee Hooton. Her son lived round the corner in Billinge Road
what a lovely photo. That's my uncle Ike, I've put a photo of him on Places-Pemberton, it was taken on the day of his son jimmy and Eunice's wedding. brings back memories of Qween st.
I used to walk down there on my way to school.
Yes Tricia I still live in Orrell. As you say the years have flown by ,wouldn`t change a thing though .
I grew up in that street.... and the car in the background was just like the first car we ever had a 1954 Ford Anglia... I can still remember the reg FCK541 ... happy days and lovely photo
