Any ideas about this group? Could be from the Billinge/Orrell/Upholland/Roby Mill area. The impressive tree might help.Apologies for the quality.
I think it's actually the Robin Hood Major Oak in Nottingham Forest. Modern pics show birch trees in the forest around, as can be seen in the background here.
It can't be the Winwick Broad Oak - that fell down in a storm in 1850.
