Were Gladys, Doreen and Brian siblings? Was their mother's name Margaret O'Donnell? Did Doreen emigrate to Australia? If so, they were my cousins. Margaret and my mother were sisters. Nice to meet you Mark!!

Hi .. Who was Doreen Dawber married too?

Comment by: Mark Chapman on 28th October 2012 at 00:38

Stuartp, Doreen chapman married George Moss & emigrated to Austrailia as a 10 pound pom in the late 60's & is still there.
Gladys Chapman married Eric Dawber & lived in Appley Bridge most of her life, unfortunatly Gladys & Eric are no longer with us. :-(

Hi Mark, do I have your permission to copy the photograph?
I sometimes used to bump into Gladys with my mother around Wigan when I was younger. I thought she was very glamorous. She looked very much like my mother's sister Lucy. I was very sad to hear how she had to spend her last years. Doreen was actually at my brother's wedding in 1987. She happened to be over from Australia on a visit and came to see my mother. I met your dad at my mum's house before she died (2000). He had started to become interested in ancestry. I think he sent stuff to my brother as well, but I think one or two things need correcting. I've done a lot of ancestry research. If you are interested, get Brian to give you my email. I don't live in England.
I don't suppose you have a picture of Margaret? I had a tiny one of Margaret and her sister Annie, which I cannot put my hand on at the moment. I got it from Ron (another cousin, son of sister Elizabeth). As you can see, there were five surviving sisters (three others died as children) and four brothers. My mother once told me that there had been a set of twins as well, but I have never found them. Presumably they were stillborn.

Hi Linda,
Please feel free to copy the photo or Email me your address & i'll post you a copy.
I'll ask my mum if we have any photo's of Margret.
Unfortunatly Brian (my Dad) died sept 2011, theres a good couple of photo's of him if you look at Spring view 1947 in the school section.
