Enjoying the thrills of white water rapids,I think not, in a canoe at Blackpool's Boating Pool. With my parents Doreen and Alan we had many wonderful holidays in Blackpool in the 50s and early sixties. Plenty of crabbing took place there as well due to the pools being full of sea water. The boating pool provided a split pool, one side for motorboats the other for canoes. There was also a number of fairground type rides and plenty of deck chairs. Last time I went to Blackpool, about seven years ago, the boating pool was still there but out of service. Is that still the case?
