This was in my late grandad's things.The studio design and a costume museum date it accurately to about 1870. I am certain he is a Cain ancestor but who? Does anyone have this too?

Can't help you I'm afraid Neil but if it is an 1870 photo then it seems it might be one of Wigan's earliest since commercial photography really only got started in the 1840's and I'm not aware of earlier photos taken in Wigan, unless someone out there knows something different.
