Lived with husband Ernest and children Alan, my dad, Edna, Ernie, Lilian, Billy and Olive at Mint Cottage, Mint Court, Scholes for many years before it was tragically demolished as part of the Scholes clearances of the mid to late sixties. Some people have a lot to answer for!

My favourite aunty and my mothers sister we were always around their house, Mint Cottage on Primrose Hill i always thought that was a great address. i loved feeding the chickens and ducks also helping my aunty make pig swill and give it to the pig i even tried to ride the pony once which to me was like an arabian stallion. My aunty May and uncle Ernie where very hard working and tried to get a small business going but i think his partner let him down and he never recovered

Lovely photo John,I can see the resemblance in Alan ,I remember taking the phone call at work when she passed away,Alan was working out on site at the time ,I had to tell him when he came back to the workshop some things you dont forget. On a lighter note John ,some of your photos have a lot of white background on them, when you scan them you'll notice a dotted line round the full page put your cursor on the corner and drag it until it fits round the photo leaving a small boarder then click save or ok,your photo will then fill the screen on the WW site ,give it a try on the next one good luck.

David thanks for the tip. it was 1985 when grandma May passed away, I remember as I was working for Wigan Health Authority at the time in Bryan House Standishgate.
