Wigan Album

Back in the nineteen seventies I ran an under five's portrait promotion along with the Wigan Reporter. I photographed more than 600 children in three days, but strangely enough a couple of weeks after the event I got a phone call from EMI records asking if I would be willing to shoot a record sleeve for them.
It turns out that one of the little boys was the son of Fogwell Flax and he was impressed, both with the pictures and the treatment.
So I packed my gear and set off for Worsely to shoot the celebrity session, not really knowing what the image would, except perhaps for the obvious, that it would be a square to fit the record sleeve.
