The year was around 1962 or thereabouts, I had a studio on Ormskirk Rd., Newtown and a lady brought her small daughter in a tutu for a portarit.
I must have been abut 18 at the time and had absolutely no experience with ballet, but I was pretty nifty with lighting and portraiture so I tried to create an image from Swan Lake in my mind, using a single theatrical spot light.
I think the little girls name was Gillian Hoy and was from somewhere between Newtown and Highfield
The image was created with a Yashicamat 6x6cm camera on Ilford FP3 film, lit by an RR Beard Fresnel spot to emulate theatrical lighting.

David You took some photos of my daughter forty odd years ago when she was one in your studio and they were beautiful. Your sister is a very successful hairdresser, your mother must have been proud of you both.
