A photo of my late father, Jack Cockrell with some of his Trophies. He was a great swimmer in his day, winning many Cups, Shields ans Medals for his endevours in Swimmimg, Water Polo and Life Saving. His father, (also Jack), was the Manager at Wigan Baths for over thirty years until the new (now demolished) Pool was opened in 1966. My Father therefore had an advantage over everyone else, since they actually lived in a house within the Baths Complex and was able to train morning, noon and night. He was probably about 16 or 17 when this Photo was taken around 1944.

Dave,I remember your grandfather, he was a friend of my dad's.
Also remember you too from WGS
Hi Dave,I worked with your dad when I was an apprentice at De Havilland (Hawker Siddley) Lostock he was my mentor for about 3 months. I also knew your grandad from learning to swim at the baths when at Thomas Linacre. Great memories.
