l-r Lily Smith, Alice Hale, Annie Stockley,Tillie Belcher, Ada Ascroft, Maggie Aldington, Lizzie Ashcroft, Winnie Birchall, Louie Brown. Our wedding reception was held in the old senior boys hall at highfield, attended by 110 guests. These ladies did all the catering and were also wedding guests. Alice Hale made our wedding cake and we still have the ornament from it 56 yrs on.For the feast, my dad killed 8 cock chickens! And it didnt cost a bundle like the weddings of today.

Yes it was at Highfield. Bert Bullough was the vicar who married us.
