hi anita, i just love this pic this was my time and everything about it swells my heart to see the simple things like the straw gondola bag your coats shoes hairstyles and wigan station in 1964 i went to southport many times with my friends i wish we were back in those days instead of shootings stabbings fear of young kids, we only new beltin times when we were free of all that we never heard of somebody being beaten to death,i mean there were a few baddies but overall they were good days, fantastic photo anita thankyou x
Is the second girl CHRISTINE LATHAM see lived in endfeild st pemberton.
Margaret and Christine Latham, Madge Holcroft, Anita. Just received this photo from my sister in England. What a great time we had. How are you Anita. I am in Australia and will be in Wigan for a few weeks in July and August. Be nice to get in touch. (Margaret Edwards)
My better half and myself and 2 friends from Woolies, used to catch the Southport train on a Saturday night (the same years) to go to the White Swan at Balshaw lane, it was just outside the station, and it had really good groups on, we always finished up walking home from Wigan though, usually through being skint
Beautiful words Josie.
I think your spot on Josie, they were real good time, and it's so nice to share them. People never forget the great times.
i know colin,we will never see or experience those days again i loved it and looking back you realise what a wonderfull time it was we were lucky if i could go back i would.
Like wise.
The thing was Josie, women looked a lot older in those days, 18 year olds looked 30 odd in the way they dressed. Young people seeme to wear the same type of clothes as their mothers did. The ladies are lovely but if they had jeans and a T shirt on, they would look their age, just like girls today. Am glad i live in todays era.
Suzie,I don't think we are looking 30 on that photo!!!These clothes and hairdos were very mod in the 60's... you should see me/us today..wearing jeans and a t-shirt..go see my profile pics..we are looking 30 NOW...LOL.....
Anita, I don't know how to view your profile. Can you give me a clue??

hi suzie, i love todays clothes well up to a certain extent, and i certinly didnt dress nothing like my mam i think the 60s were the start of young people having great fashion and freedom you only have to look at the hairstyles of today its the 60s ive seen beehives two feet high and more ha ha,platform shoes minnie skirts and dresses are all what we used to have then ,its not new ,its because it was so fabulouse it keeps comming back,( and yea i like my trackies and t shirt as well).
