A photo of my father in law,Wilf Ashurst,doing his 1950s national service training.
(he is the one halfway up the tree on the left.
Wilf later went on to make something of a career of the RAF & worked his way up to be a WO1(warrant officer)later serving in germany & then malaya.
After finishing in the RAF wilf went on to work at ince wagon works cutting up & scrapping redundant trains,Wilf Then later went on to many other jobs in the wigan area but finally worked as a sales rep until his retirement.
