Here's a pic for you Ellen...& everyone else.
Taken about 1953 in the Assembly Hall of Ormskirk Secondary School for Girls, don't know if we were really rehearsing a play or just posing. I remember some names. Audrey Hargreaves, Teresa Gallager, Thelma Whalley, Rachel Spencer.....I'm the one standing just to the left of the door by the stage. I travelled from Upholland, before that I went to Darby Street School & Ormskirk Junior,I was living in Wigan then & it seemed a bit of a journey. Always got a Parkin at the Scotch Bakery in Menses Street when I got back & off the bus.

It looks exactly like Whelley Secondary Modern used to.

Thanks,Helen-The only person I knew well at this school was Marjorie Ashall,(sister of Harold,Joan and Kathleen (who was,and is my age) we all went to Digmore Methodist church) Kathleen went to UGS and Joan (my sister's age) went to Ormskirk Grammar School.16rut
