c 1968. Roy Charnock until his death in 1981 was employed as a lathe turner making machine parts at British Leyland Truck and Bus Divsion in Leyland, a short ride up the M6 from Wigan.His nephew, Richard Garswood was also employed there, and his younger son Roy Charnock was first employed as a welder and riveter putting bodies on bus chassis' at a factory on Wigan Lane

The Bus factory on Wigan Lane was called Northern Counties.

Mr Charnock made my dumbells from motor parts for me .I still use these today.Roger his son was A great friend At school
