I was just sent the Haselden page showing your photos. In regards to the photos I posted, my grandfather, John Haselden, managed the White Lion in Wigan from 1910-1923. Alfred Haselden was my grandfather's brother who worked for Ford Motor Company, managing their European plants and later the Dagenham plant in London. My father's brother, Arthur Haselden, ran the Brunswick Pub on Glover Street in St. Helens in the 1930's to 1940's. I have the family tree back to the 1700 mostly from records of St. Thomas Church in Ashton-in-Makerfield. These show that others in the family tree were publicans. My great grandparents were Robert, son of Robert and Mary Haselden, and Ann (Sudworth) Haselden. Interested in knowing if you are related in some way.
Sarah(Sally)Haselden married my great uncle Richard Hart and thanks to their direct descendant Leanne Holmes Turner I have various photos of the family. I am currently writing my third Wigan book and would like to include a chapter on Sally's brother Alfred who started working life as a miner and retired as a senior Ford executive. Very much the American Dream in practice. If anyone has any uinformation about Alf's career I would be very pleased to hear from them.
