A photo. of me and Joe Ball with two pike we caught from the Figure 8 near Winstanley Hall. Although the photo is dated 1963 it could have been 1962? I can remember that day ( Sunday) as though it was last week. Photo taken in Joe's Dad's front garden on the Green at Pemberton.

Hi Ian, what was her name? Do you remember Ralph Ball? he was Joe's brother and a bit backward(Is that still politically correct to say that?) He was a real character and he worked at May Mill for years. He died a few years ago. He was always calling at my mum's in Howard street. She used to give him a few bob for doing odd jobs for her.
There was also two other brothers, John and Tom. I saw Joe a few months ago. I took him a copy of this photo. I hadn't seen him for 40 years. Apart from being grey he hadn't changed a bit.

Hi Ron

Her name is Joan Grundy; She and her family husband Jack, son Carl and daughters Janice and Andrea moved there in 1971 from Queen St. I remember the Ball family but didn't really know them well. Jack died but Joan Car and Andrea still live there.

Hi Ian sorry I don't remember them, but it was a bit after my time. I didn't have any contact with people in that area after about 65/66
