Top row, left to right, Sheila Thomas, Me, Janet Lomax, Adeline Dunn and Pat Daly. Bottom row, think it's our Kenneth, but it may be Eddie Daly, Roy Lomax, little girl, think it's Geds niece, don't know her name, and then Sandra Thomas.. This is the pic I have Geoff, so won't bother putting it on now..

Not the best quality but you should be able to recognise this motley crew! Sitting on wall are Sheila Thomas,Janet Lomax,Adeline Dunn,Pat Daly.On the flags are Eddie daly(with butty),Roy Lomax,Angela Macdonald(related to the Hiltons)and Sandra Thomas.Such happy and innocent times!

Great photo Geoff. I seem to remember Angela McDonald was Mrs. Hiltons granddaughter and didn't she have quite a good singing voice in her teens - like a contralto (deep)voice? My Mum very often sees Adeline and has a chat with her.

Hi there Ged,wonderful to hear from you .Glad you liked the photo although the quality wasn't that good.Your family and did mine seem to get on really well - a lot to do with the fact that your mum was so kind and helpful to us.And,although it must be 50years ago, I really must thank you again for that bike you did up and gave to me.What a wonderful and amazing thing to do!I'm sure I didn't thank you enough at the time, so a big big thank you again -I've never forgotten it.It was one of the happiest memories of my childhood and I loved it.How's your brother and sister doing?

Geoff, Thanks for the kind comments. I dont remember the bike.My sister & brother have been looking at your photos today & made copies of a couple .(hope you dont mind). We were wondering if you mum is still with us as we haven't seen her for quite a while.

Hello again Ged.My sisters are keen to hear how you Tom and Eileen are doing and they'll be pleased that you are making copies.Sadly Mother died in 2003.She moved into a care home in Wigan in October 2002 but unfortunately died in January 2003.Thanks for asking.Best wishes to everybody.

Hi Geoff, Sorry to hear that you lost your mother we kind of thought you had, Tom & Eileen are well , we meet up every sunday lunch for a couple of hours to have a good natter & it is mostly of days gone by, Tom lost his wife seven years ago & Eileen Lost Bill her husband on Chritmas day 2008, Where do you & the girls live now , not seen any of you apart from Joan.

Hi Ged. Sorry to hear about Tom and Eileen's partners.Losing your husband on Christmas Day is very sad indeed. I'm passing on your messages to Beryl,Joan and Sandra. Sandra lives in the Whitley area of Wigan(Havenwood Road),Joan still lives in Garswood and Beryl lives in Chipping Sodbury near Bristol.I've lived in a few different places but two years ago I moved to Wales and live just outside Welshpool.I'm sure they' love to meet up with you all one day for a right good 'fradge'.By the way, I've just been having a good laugh reading Fred Foster's book about Stones's Pit and mining - your dad is mentioned specifically in it.Have you seen it? You can read it on Wigan World under 'Stuff'.
