Back.....my sister Anne & my mother
Martin, I have sorted out where the Hare & Hounds was/is, the pub had a weighbridge outside (?) Then there was a lane & then, in my day, Mrs Rigby's corner shop. A bit further up was the Post Office, the front room of a house. The Postmistress used to sell a few sweets & always had scissors on a piece of string hanging from her belt to cut the coupons out of your ration book. Mrs Rigby came in very useful to me later in my life. I went back to 'school' in my early 30's & when I sat the English Language exam one of the subjects to write an essay on was....A corner shop, I was well away !!
