Would this Alker family at Holland Moor be the same family I knew in the late 40's early 50's ? I knew a boy John Alker, he had a younger sister whose name I think was Audrey. They lived at Holland Moor in a row of stone cottages opposite Gaskell's garage, near the old school on the corner of Back Lane.

Hello Helen Audrey rings a bell with me, also John though there was quite a few Alkers in the area. As there were three or four brothers. I am still trying to put things together to give a better picture. This part of the Alkers lived next to the Hare and Hounds Public House, one door away from Mrs Coffee's corner shop. No 236 Ormskirk Rd. If I manage to gain more information I will try to post it.Thankyou for your comments.
